Calm Elan Valley by Deb-e-ann Calm Elan Valley by Deb-e-ann
This is one of the reservoirs at Elan Valley in Wales. These reservoirs provide most of the drinking water for Birmingham...
and before anyone says anything, This is as straight as I can get it!!!

This week's submission to :iconskyandnatureclub: weekly contest. This week the theme is 'Calm'

[link]

This is a link which will tell you why the dams were built in the 19Th century to provide water for Birmingham where I live. Frankley reservoir where the water it pumped to is about two miles from where I live and is a local beauty spot.

Yes it really is. At that time we had lovely blue sky but we moved on a few miles and it became cold and overcast. I don't know if this would have been so blue then. Thanks for the :+fav: :D

This is absolutely amazing, and I'm so sorry to deface your amazing devianation, but could you please submit your work to the new #BritishArtistGroup Simply because this one --->#British-Artists is admin less there have been two journals and a lot of the new admin team from the new group trying to inform people of this but it seems people are still submitting work here, that and there have been numerous occasions that we have tried to contact the admin of this group but to no success, we hope that you are still able to submit your amazing art and carry your Britishness with you to it could you please spread the word, I hope to see your submissions there :)

By all means if you want to request this goes into your club I will be happy to accept but I have noticed that you take a long time to review and vote on submissions. Therefore I don't always submit to you. The old club is still running even if you say there aren't any admins and I see everyone's submissions straight away. I see no point in stop submitting to that group as well :D

All submissions are automatically accepted, there is literally no one there, and we are looking for admins as there is only three of us

So why don't you just automatically accept in your club and then clear the galleries afterwards if they are submitted incorrectly. I think most people prefer a club that automatically accepts. OK so we get lots of submissions to look at that maybe crap but believe me I've faved a few crap ones just because I liked them. You will always find that type of club more popular. I don't like the fact I might be missing something just because an admin votes against it.
I withdrew from my friend's club because one admin voted against this [link] and gave me all sorts of reasons.. these were how the photo should have been and he eventually admitted he just didn't like it. What a jobsworth!!! It has 63 faves which is good for me so it proved what a farce voting can be. If I had my way clubs would be banned from having a voting system

Hahahahaha yeah, but it would be more hassle having to sort through them in the long term than just vote in the short term, I do see what you're saying though :)

It is beautiful isn't it Clive. One of the best parts of Wales to visit I think as I didn't have a long drive through mountains (which I don't like).

We went on a beautiful sunny day but as we drove to another part of the reservoirs, it clouded over and when we got to the dam itself it was dull hot and sticky. Still worth a visit on a good day though. I've never been when the ducts have been open though.

My God that was a long time ago. Did you go on a school trip there? We always went in our senior school. The only thing I remember is it was cold and wet and the zip on my friend's skirt broke and it fell down
